A-Level Results 2010: Interview with Peter Wang, council president

by Christy and Olga

Thanks to the Photographic Soc for a particularly evocative photo.

By a really big stroke of luck, we bumped into the representative of 2009’s cohort – the Council president, Peter Wang. ManiAC had the privilege of asking this president-cum-rugby-president a few questions about his time in the college and his expectations for the future.

M: Which subject’s results did you dread the most?

P: I’d say chemistry? Yeah H2 chemistry was the worst.

M: Any weird dreams just before receiving the results?

P: Ok I dreamed that I got AAB and I was running around the hall ‘cos I was freaking happy so I was running all around. [grin]

M: So do you have any plans, now that you’ve got your A level results?

P: I’ll try to apply for maritime studies, or if I can I’ll apply for medicine overseas.

M: So did you have any food cravings any time today?

P: No…in fact I didn’t eat my breakfast! I woke up too late to eat my breakfast [sheepish grin] and then I didn’t eat much at lunch ‘cos I wasn’t hungry.

M: What were your feelings when you received the results slip?

P: I was trying to be as relaxed about it as possible…I wasn’t really expecting anything great, so it wasn’t shocking in a good or bad way.

M: Now that you’ve received your results, it signifies the end of your time in AC. So what will you miss most about it?

P: Definitely my friends.

M: How has being council president affected your time in school?

P: You get to interact with many different kinds of people. As a student you see things in a certain way, but when you’re actually in the system you appreciate school so much more ‘cos when you serve the school you get back so much more!

M: Anything you want to say to your juniors or to the current president?

P: Study hard, train hard, and most importantly have fun!
