Old and New – An end and a beginning
By Sarah Pang
Familiarity. That’s what I like about the past. There is nothing unexpected or unpredictable there. A sense of nostalgia returns when I recall old times – days of sky blue uniforms and (shockingly) green PE shorts, of scrambling through PE just so I could beat the queue for mouth-watering mee-pok, soccer scrimmages after school or afternoons in the quad talking; later, the inevitable rush for the ‘O’s, hours spent clutching TYSes and comparing answers frenziedly. Even though these days are old and long gone, they are dear to me, and I fear the day when the maelstrom that is JC life sweeps them away.
