Held on the 17th and 18th of November (on Tuesday and Wednesday), the Harp camp was planned by the teachers-in-charge and the Harp exco so that members can have a time of bonding and also to improve their harp playing skills. Were the aims of the camp met? Let’s find out…

On behalf of all the CCA captains, Vice-Captains, Presidents and Vice-Presidents, the writer wants to express his/her sincerest gratitude to the student councillors, who saved my black hair from turning white, thanks to their CCA Banner Painting Service!!!

Firstly, they provide brush renting services, which are great because I don’t think I’ll ever use these paintbrushes ever again in my life.
Secondly, they sell paint by the cup, which means that the CCA does not need to spend so much money buying tin after tin when all they need is, let’s say, a swipe of red paint for emphasis.
Thirdly, they provide cloth buying services.
HENCE, everything is delivered to school and poured out for you. All you need to do is pay a bit of money, and convenience is at hand!!! For all the stress relief they provided, I myself wouldn’t mind paying that bit more for rental of brushes than to hunt for these items myself.
Once again to the councillors, thank you so much!

School has ended, and it has been a crazy year for many of us. From Orientation to Promotional Exams, I’m sure the memories we’ve created for ourselves in AC will last us a lifetime.
Academically, I’ve learnt that Aluminium Tricholoride can be considered an acid even though it cannot donate hydrogen ions (it just has to be a proton acceptor). I’ve also learnt that we can always back up our choices by saying “MB>MC!” and no one can say anything about it because it’s our personal valuation of the good/service, or how even when you want to translate a graph by (X+1) unit you actually shift it to the left, not right. I learn many things.

Recently I’ve been reading more than watching tv. A LOT of reading. So I’ve come up with a list of books that I really like and some that I don’t like. Mostly because reading is good for you and you should pick up a book but also because I really like lists of stuff.

6th November signalled the start of the November/December holidays for us J1s, the time we’ve all been waiting for. What is a holiday, you may ask? According to dictionary.com, a holiday is “a time or period of exemption from any requirement, duty, assessment, etc”. However, in our so-called Holiday, we still have to prepare for the final lap of our dreaded Project Work, the Oral Presentation component. Those students who have been “advanced” will have to use their precious time to prepare for their exams in January and to catch up on all their JC1 work. As for those who have managed to scrape through and get promoted, they would also have to work hard to study the whole JC1 syllabus, to finish the game of “catch-up” they have been playing the whole year round.

Ever seen on television Panic At The Disco* singing New Perspective over scenes of a female vampire behaving in a totally uncontrolled manner? Yes, that was an advertisement for the original soundtrack of the latest spin off of vampire movies/tv-series, Jennifer’s Body, starring Megan Fox.

It has been such a long time since this writer has written about this beloved topic. All the while I’ve been so busy covering new events around college that I really had no time – or the energy – to continue my barrage against the inferior gender. But finally, the events have ceased, the exams are over, and the results are out. Witnessing guys receiving their results for the very first time in seven years was, to say the least, an absolute spectacle.

As all subject reps know, the photocopying shop queue is bad enough on ordinary days. But on the day of Written Report Submission, things just get worse and worse.

Guy on the right, gesticulating wildly: “Friends! Can’t you see how empty our lives are? What is this eternal queuing FOR?! FIGHT THE TYRANNY OF PLASTIC BINDING COMBS!!!”

“Tyrannical? Us? We’re just lying here innocently. In ACJC colours, no less.”

Sometimes, your caring is not enough.
Sometimes, your loving is not enough.
Sometimes your enough, may never be enough.
But that doesn’t mean we should stop;
We,
Shouldn’t stop trying
Shouldn’t stop caring
Shouldn’t stop loving.
